The Secret of Joy

Today, Art Corner Friday returns with a new drawing titled “The Secret of Joy.” As you might guess, this artwork was created for a Bible class focusing on the joy that we read about in the letter from Paul to the Philippians. I am a co-teacher of the class, so I thought I would come up with something of my own for my PowerPoint presentations, just to make them a little unique. This was the title slide that I came up with, and the content slides feature the smiling guy along with the wording down along the bottom of each slide.

For this one, I drew the smiling guy and wrote “Joy” freehand, but the other words are just fonts that I used. Because if you know me, you know I can’t write that neatly.

That guy looks pretty happy, doesn’t he? But I like to think that he is more joyful than happy. After all, there is a difference between joy and happiness. Happiness usually depends on the situations and circumstances. But joy goes much deeper. Can you be joyful without being happy about your situation? Abolutely! Want to know more? Read the book of Philippians. Or drop by our Bible class - it would be a joy to have you!
