Waves on Cocoa Beach

Waves roll onto the shore at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida, early one summer morning, as a couple of swimmers enjoy the uncrowded hours before the main crowds arrive.

I could watch the waves roll in for hours at a time. Of course, after a while, the gentle noise would probably put me to sleep. But that wouldn’t be entirely bad, would it? As long as I didn’t fall asleep in the sun and end up with a severe sunburn. Which happens to people quite often, from what we see there. They probably didn’t actually fall asleep in the sun. They just didn’t think that they would burn as quickly as they do. The problems of fair skinned people. Of which I am one.

I do always like to try to capture the waves in photos, and this one turned out rather well. The white caps of the wave stand out nicely against the brown of the shore and the blue of the sky. And there are some nice, if faint, light rays from the sun coming down, too.

When I look at photos, I like to see what else I can see, too. And what jumps out at me here are the footprints in the sand. They weren’t my footprints, because they are walking away from where I was standing. So someone else had been there not too long before me, it would seem. Two people, actually, as there are two sets of prints. And we can probably guess that they were joggers, due to the spacing between the prints.

Maybe I should be on one of those CSI shows!
