Walt Disney World Swan and Friendship
Swan and Passing Friendship
A Friendship boat passes in front of the Walt Disney World Swan hotel in Florida, as seen during our 2021 Florida Trip. And there might be a special passenger on board.
Our Florida trips often involve a visit to the Epcot Resorts, and this trip was no different. It was a beautiful day for a walk all around the resorts, too. Slightly hot, but that just made the ice cream that we bought taste even better.
As we were walking to the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel, a Friendship boat was passing by in Crescent Lake, with the Walt Disney World Swan in the background. It was a perfect photo opportunity, almost looking like an old postcard. Remember when people would send postcards? I was glad that I had my camera ready to go to capture the scene.
A Special Passenger
If you look closely in the Friendship boat, you might notice a special passenger looking back at you. Here is a detail view to make it easier to see:
Yes, that is Mobius the Goat going for a ride on the Friendship boat, even though it is a little difficult to see him through those dark windows. I’m not sure how he got separated from our group like that. But hopefully, he got where he was going. That was one less mouth to buy ice cream for!
So is the new thing to do around here to hide a goat in each photo? Probably not. But I thought it might be fun to do from time to time, even if he is not the main focus of the photo as he was in the recent Cocoa Beach photo from our trip. It is just something fun to do to make the photos a little more unique.
It was actually a slight challenge to draw Mobius that small, because I am used to drawing him larger than that. But that challenge added to the fun, too.
Watch for more photos from our trip, and maybe more goats, too!
Bible Verse
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? - Psalm 27:1
About the Photo
As I mentioned above, this was a rather quick photo. No long setup or anything. I just aimed my camera and clicked the shutter button, using the settings that I had already used for previous outdoor photos. Nice and simple.
This was also a rather simple edit in Luminar AI. I used the same settings I had previously used for a Main Street USA photo, tweaking things just slightly, such as not using quite so much vignetting. Once again, simple, because most everything about the photo looked great to begin with.
And lastly, adding in Mobius the Goat was a rather quick addition, too. I loaded the finished photo into the Procreate app on my iPad, drew him in, and then darkened him up to appear to be behind the dark window.
A few simple processes, but I like the results.
