Walt Disney World Dolphin After the Rain
It’s Raining, It’s Pouring
Actually, it wasn’t raining or pouring when I took this photo of the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel, one of the Epcot Resorts at Walt Disney World. But it had been raining, as you can see by the wet pavement and all of the clouds. There aren’t too many other reasons that everything would have a wet look like that.
Fortunately, it was more of a light rain than a pouring rain, so we did not melt or anything. And we didn’t even have to break out our raincoats. That was nice because it was the middle of summer. If you have ever put on a raincoat in the Florida heat and humidity, you know just how quickly you want it to stop raining so you can take it back off. Yes, there are ponchos for the rain, too, but we haven’t bought one of those in years. A light jacket suits our style a bit better. Nothing against the poncho crowd, of course.
Anyway, back to the photo. I love the colors that sometimes show up right after a rain shower, and there was an interesting color in the atmosphere around the Epcot Resorts on that day. Obviously, the Walt Disney World Dolphin was the hotel that we were closest to at the time, so that is why it is in the photo.
However, I don’t think it would be difficult to get photos of most all of the resorts right after a rain because it rains so often in Florida. Especially when we are there, or at least that is how it seems. If they ever have a drought in Central Florida, they just call us up and we apparently bring the rain with us. You’re welcome. Rain, Rain, Rain
As it turns out, this photo is somewhat appropriate to the weather we have been having over the past month. We had some flood watches last week, and we have some more flood watches this week. The horse pasture has been solid mud. If you aren’t careful, you can lose a boot trying to walk to the barn. And if your boot comes off and you can’t catch your balance, then you will have a really muddy sock. That is even worse than a muddy boot.
We will probably be singing a different song (not that we are really singing about the rain) once the summer comes and we have a dry spell, wondering when we might get some rain. But around here, neither one of those times lasts all that long, even though it may seem like it after a few days of rain. At least our well is getting replenished for the next generation on down the line.
At least we have not had to build an ark. Yet.

About the photo
Unlike some of the recent photos posted here, this one was created from just one exposure of the original Raw file. No multiple layers needed for this one.
Of course, I did increase the color saturation and vibrance a bit to bring out the purple color tones just a bit more. That is what makes this photo cool, after all. You might as well accentuate the good stuff, right?
