Walt Disney Theatre at Christmas on the Disney Dream
That Walt Guy
Christmas Trees and poinsettias surround the tile mural outside of the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Dream, as seen during our 2018 Christmas Disney Cruise.
This mural in the theatre lobby is always a popular spot for photos. They do have character photos there at times, and on our Christmas cruise, we even had our photo taken with Santa Claus in front of the mural.
But from time to time you can find the area with very few people in it, especially in the middle of the day, as we did here. So why not take some photos of our own?
Matching Shirts
This seemed like the perfect place to get a photo of the girls in their matching Christmas Cruise shirts. Karen had those made for the girls to wear, and so we were looking for a photo spot to commemorate the matching. This spot was perfect for it, I think.
However, if a closer view is better, we took care of that, too:
For this photo, we moved to the main Atrium Lobby and took this in front of the large Christmas Tree there. The tree is so large that you can’t tell too much about it in this close-up photo, but the greenery makes a perfect backdrop for the girls.
We guys did not have matching shirts like this, but we all did have matching Santa Pirate Mickey/Minnie shirts that we wore on Pirate Night. So here are us guys together:
And if you are wondering, the girls’ shirts were similar except for the addition of a red bow with white polka dots.
Great memories of a great time with great friends!

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - Proverbs 18:10
About the Photos
There really is not much in the way of exciting information to pass along about these photos. If you are wondering, the two in front of the Christmas tree were taken with a 50mm prime lens. It was rather dark in the lobby, so I wanted the wide aperture to be able to make use of the available light instead of getting out my flash.
The two theatre lobby photos were taken with the standard 28-70mm zoom lens. With the 50mm lens, I would not have been able to get the entire mural in the frame, so the wider angle was definitely better for those.
And isn’t it funny how a post about a theatre lobby ended up being a post about matching shirts? Funny how that works sometimes.
