Walkway to the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World
Path to the Grand
A walkway lined with green grass and trees leads to the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World, as seen during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.
If you are familiar with the Grand Floridian, you will know that this building is actually the Villas that are part of the Disney Vacation Club. The main hotel itself is still a little ways away from this point, but you can’t see it from here because this building blocks the view. But it still has the look of the rest of the hotel, and that works for me.
We were walking on the walkway that starts at the Polynesian Village Resort and goes along the west side of Seven Seas Lagoon past the Wedding Pavilion. That walkway has ended at the Grand Floridian for many years. But now they are extending it all the way to the Magic Kingdom, thanks to a new bridge that goes across the service canal. So the next time that we go, our walk will be just a little longer.
It is a fun place to get out and walk.
Not Normal
I know we are not your normal vacation people. I have accepted the “not normal” label for many years in many different areas, and it does not bother me at all.
For example, when we are out walking on these walkways at Walt Disney World, we rarely see other people. Maybe another family or two while we are out walking. Compare that to the number of people that are there at Walt Disney World, and it is a really small percentage.
it is fun for me to go do things that not everyone is doing. Sort of that whole “road less traveled” kind of thing. That appeals to me.
Of course, I drag the rest of the family along with me. At least one of them feels the same way about it that I do. And sometimes the other one does, too.

About the Photos
As I have been doing lately, I wanted these photos to have a bold, colorful look. That is actually a little easier than it sounds. The problem with these photos was keeping the yellows and greens under control. At first, the grass and trees were just too bright and colorful. That might sound odd, but the yellows and greens were overwhelming. Fortunately, I was able to control all of that by color with some HSV sliders in Aurora HDR. That gave me the look I was going for.
