Walking Through Tomorrowland

Walking through Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in the early morning hours.

Actually, there weren’t that many people walking through Tomorrowland at this time. This was right after the park opened, and there weren’t all that many people heading to Space Mountain as their first ride as we were. Which was fine with us.

I have always thought it was pretty cool how Tomorrowland is like a big canyon as you walk through with the structures rising high on either side of you. In some ways, that was even better in the old days. The structure at the right in this photo was not quite as high back then, but there weren’t as many metallic things blocking your view of the WEDWay PeopleMover as it zipped by overhead. But then the old version didn’t have the neat gears in the pavement, so there are good and bad points to both versions.

Except that the old version of Tomorrowland had Mission to Mars instead of Stitch’s Great Escape. I would gladly see Mission to Mars again. Stitch, not so much.
