Walking Out To the Waves at Cocoa Beach

We always enjoy riding the waves at Cocoa Beach. Sometimes, it is a trick to catch a good wave, depending on the tide at the moment, but then sometimes good waves just keep on coming. It just takes a bit of patience at times to wait for the right wave to come.
And it helps if there aren’t all that many people around, such as when I took this photo. There is nothing like finding a good wave but then having to swerve because someone is in your way, causing you to lose the force of the wave. It isn’t necessarily their fault for being where they are any more than it is your fault for being where you are, but they are still there, right where you want to be. Fewer people means fewer of those problems. On this particular day, there weren’t many problems like that at all. So we made the most of it all day long. And as you can see, the weather was nice, too. Can’t beat that, right?
Sadly, our body boards that you see in the photo are no more. After several years, they finally rode their last waves, as they were falling apart. But that’s okay, that just means we will need to get some new ones before our next Cocoa Beach visit, whenever it may be. Just another reminder that things don’t last forever, I suppose. If you haven’t already learned that in your life, just stick around a little while longer, because you will learn it sooner rather than later. That’s just part of life.
Anyway, here is a closer look at one area of the photo:
Waves at the beach fascinate me. Big waves, small waves, medium size waves - they are all interesting. And when they come together, I think it is really cool. And when they move the sand around, that is even more cool. So that is why I like this part of the photo. I actually took several more photos of just the waves like this, but of course the main focus of this photo was Laura and Jaylin, even if they are relatively small and only near the center of the photo.
We don’t have waves like that at home unless you fill up the bathtub with water and splash around a bit. But then your mom might get mad at you for making a mess in the bathroom and make you clean up all of the water you splashed out, so that might not be a good idea. Especially if you aren’t living with your parents anymore.

About the photo:
I used the fisheye lens for this photo because I liked how it showed just how few people were there at the beach. And I really liked how it picked up those wispy clouds in the sky, too. And I had to be careful not to get my feet in the photo because the view is so wide. Although having your feet in the sand is really nothing to complain about, right?
