Visiting the Grand Floridian

One of our favorite activities when we are at Walt Disney World is visiting the different Disney resorts around the property. Each Disney resort is unique, and each one offers many photo opportunities. We usually end up visiting several different resorts on each trip. Here are a few photos from our recent visit to the Grand Floridian. Maybe one of these days we will actually get to stay there. But in the meantime, we enjoy just dropping by to walk around for a while.

Getting there is usually pretty easy. If you are staying on property, you can always take a bus to one of the parks or to Downtown Disney, and then take another bus from there to whichever hotel you want to visit. Or if you are at one of the Monorail Resorts, just hop on the Monorail and ride to the next stop. You can easily walk between the Epcot Resorts, and you can even ride a boat between some of the hotels.

If you are staying off property, you can just drive to whatever hotel it is that you want to visit. If you are going to one of the resorts near the Magic Kingdom, just tell them where you are going when you go through the toll plaza for the parking lot. You do have to show a photo ID at the guard house at each resort, so be ready for that. And make sure to have your camera with you, too.

As with most of the Disney hotels, the Grand Floridian isn’t just one building, but rather a collection of several buildings all having the same overall theme. So it is definitely worth it to go outside and see the well-kept grounds in addition to looking around inside the main lobby building.
