Typhoon Boatworks

Whenever we visit Typhoon Lagoon, one of the water parks at Walt Disney World, I like to take some time to wander around with my camera, seeing what all I can find to photograph. And one thing I always get a photo of is the Typhoon Boatworks.

As you can see, it looks as if the boatworks has been abandoned for quite some time. And the boat that is there sin’t one that you would want to go for a sail in. If you can’t make it out, the signs hanging from the boat read, “Boat 4 Sale - needs work.” I would say it needs more than a little work.

I don’t know for certain, but I would imagine that these props are just dressing for the large doors that were required to access some of the wave-making equipment that makes Typhoon Lagoon what it is. So instead of just having some big, ugly doors there, they decided to make it look interesting, with all kinds of boat-related props and little touches.

And it must have worked, because I always take a photo of it. Although I must say I think this is my best one yet. At least until the next time I’m there.

Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
