Toy Soldiers in the Magic Kingdom
Toy soldiers guard Town Square and the Christmas tree in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
In the Magic Kingdom, the place that gets the most attention at Christmas is Main Street USA. That really makes sense, because everyone has a good idea of how a small town would decorate its main street for Christmas. Of course, not every small town main street had such a large Christmas tree or large toy soldiers, but they don’t seem all that out of place here.
In some ways, I think it would be neat to see Christmas decorations in other parts of the Magic Kingdom. But then how would you decorate the jungles of Adventureland? And somehow, jolly holiday Christmas decorations just wouldn’t seem right on the Haunted Mansion, would they? I do think they could come up with some pretty cool retro-futuristic decorations for Tomorrowland, and maybe even something European for Fantasyland.
On the other hand, I don’t always mind that the whole place isn’t Magic Christmas Kingdom when we are there. If you want Christmas, it is right there on Main Street USA. If you want to escape from the real world, you can do that, too.
However, I do keep wishing that they would bring back the Country Bears Christmas show. That was cool.
