Town Square on Main Street
I often wonder what it would have been like to live in a small town with a town square like the one found at Main Street USA at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. I’m sure it might not be quite as good as I would imagine, and there obviously wouldn’t be a big castle at the other end of the street. But still, I think it might be nice.

Summer Heat
The heat of the summer is here. We just thought it was hot back when the temperatures were in the mid 90s. These days, they are right up around 100. You wouldn’t think you could tell a difference, but you can. Maybe that’s not from the heat, though. Maybe that is from the humidity being up near 40%. Which makes it feel more like 110 degrees, they say.
The thermometer that I watch on my computer read 100 degrees on Tuesday, and 102 on Monday. But the “official” temperature in Memphis most of the time was 99 degrees as read at the Memphis International Airport. Why is that considered the official temperature when it is cooler than everywhere else? Again, it’s really just a difference of a degree or two, but it is more of a psychological thing. It’s this hot, and it isn’t even 100 degrees? Really? Doesn’t really matter, I suppose.
Monday night I was out feeding animals and such around 10:30. Nothing strenuous besides walking relatively slowly outside. But by the time I was finished, I was wet with sweat (good thing we don’t have Smellovision Internet, isn’t it?). And that was long after the sun had gone down. At that point, I was thinking my decision from earlier in the evening not to cut any grass was a good one.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining about the heat. But rather, I’m just talking about having to live with it. I would much rather have this heat than all the cold and snow that we had back in the winter!
