Tom Sawyer Island

I have taken several photos of Tom Sawyer Island before, but I don’t think I have ever taken one like this. Usually, I zoom in to get some of the detail of Harper’s Mill, because I like how the red painted wooden structure stands out from the green trees. Or at other times, I will zoom in to see Aunt Polly’s on the east side or the landing on the west side.

But I never have taken a photo of the entire south end of Tom Sawyer Island. Of course, you can’t see the entire island from this view, but it does in some ways make it feel more like an island because you can see water on all sides of this area here.

And actually, it has been quite a while that I have actually been over to Tom Sawyer Island. It seems that we spend most of our time these days at the higher profile attractions, because we are there maybe one day a year. I would think that if we were there more, we would spend more time enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of Tom Sawyer Island. Because when you are there, it does seem like you are a world away from the busy theme park world.

Except, of course, that you can see that world just across the river.
