The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga

Before we went to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, I didn’t know what to expect the buildings to look like. I think I had pictured something large and fish-shaped. Or something big and wavy.

But instead, the buildings were actually made of brick and glass, and they had a very classy look to them, as you can see here in this photo of the River Journey building. It especially looked great with the blue sky and blooming trees that we found there. And I was curious bout the half-covered tracks in the street. Was that from a trolley line, or perhaps an old railroad route? I never did have time to look into that more.

I do wonder what the fish and other aquatic animals think about the buildings that they live in. Do they even know what the outsides of the buildings look like? Do they even care? Maybe sometime one of them says, “I sure would like to see what it is like above the water.” And then they make a deal with Ursula to have legs and walk on the land, and that doesn’t end well for Ursula in the long run.

Side note: We never did see Ursula in the aquarium. So maybe she already got her due. Or maybe she was out trying to find Nemo.
