The Disney Dream Promenade at Night
The Deck 4 Promenade of the Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream is a nice place to spend some quiet, relaxing time, especially at night.
If you have read some of our previous Disney Cruise adventures, you probably know that the Promenade has been among our favorite places on the cruise ships. And this time was no different, although it does seem like we weren’t out there all that much. However, most every evening after dinner, we would go for a stroll around the Promenade to enjoy the cool evening air.
We would also go for that stroll to work off some of the food that we had just eaten. On all of our cruises, we have always had the second dinner seating time, which starts at 8:15 PM. To me, that gives you some extra time in your afternoon instead of having to rush in and dress for dinner. But that also means that you probably won’t finish your dinner until around 10:00 PM or so. That probably doesn’t work well for some parents with younger children, but we don’t feel too badly about keeping Jaylin out that late.
But still, if you have just finished your delicious dessert and the three courses before it at 10:00 PM, it really isn’t practical to go right to bed after that. So a stroll along the Promenade is a nice way to let your food settle a bit before you go to bed.
Just watch out for joggers, who may make you feel a little guilty with the number of times that they pass you on your stroll. They must have eaten at the earlier sitting. Because I definitely couldn’t run like that right after eating all that food.
About the photo:
For this photo, I opened the aperture as wide as it would go, which in this case is f/1.8. I also turned the ISO up to 800, so that I could use a 1/25 second shutter speed and not need to go back to the room to get my tripod. Although I probably could have used the extra exercise.
A single RAW exposure, processed in Photoshop. Read more about the photo software and gear I use at the camera gear page.
