The Burnsland List of Relevance (3/14/14)

The return of an old favorite - The Burnsland List of Relevance. New around here? Check out some of the past lists. Still don’t know what is going on? Neither do I.

  1. Daylight Savings Time - Adjusting to the new time isn’t always fun. The extra daylight at the end of the day is nice. The extra dark in the morning isn’t quite as nice.
  2. Daylight Saving Time - I learned this week that this is the actual name. No “savings,” just “saving.” Apparently, in addition to daylight, we are also saving the “s” at the end of “savings.”
  3. Sleep - Who needs that extra hour that we lost last weekend? And why do we have to wait so long to get it back?
  4. Summer - Let’s just skip through the up-and-down weather of spring and get on to the good stuff. And maybe we can skip the allergies, too.
  5. Winter - This is the worst winter we have had in quite a while. You know it is rough in the south when we go outside and think 32 degrees is warm.
  6. Peanuts - The actual nuts, not the comic strip. Although the comic strip is good, too, unless you try to eat it. Then the actual nuts are better.
  7. Football - Yes, this is the spring, but there are reports every day of who gets dropped and who gets picked up for NFL teams. And some college football talk from time to time, too. Sorry fans, but basketball and baseball don’t really do it for me.
  8. March - How did this month end up with such a boring name. Imagine the yearly get-togethers: “Hi, I’m November!” “Cool name! I’m February! “Ouch, hard to spell! I’m March!” “Um, okay.”

That’s it for this time. Check back soon for another list of meaningless nothings. Unless you are looking for something really meaningful. Then you might want to look elsewhere.
