Sunset Through the Bridge

You may notice that this bridge is actually sitting on the land. According to a sign at one end of the bridge, this was originally one span of the bridge across the Tennessee River at Paris Landing. When a new bridge was constructed, this span was donated to be a pavilion of sorts in this park. The original bridge was named for Scott Fitzhugh, who served as a speaker of the Tennessee State Senate, and this span is now known as the Scott Fitzhugh Bridge Pavilion.

It does look like a neat place to eat a picnic meal. Looking back from the bridge toward where I was standing was a great water view, which would make a nice scene to contemplate while you are eating. And how many people can say they ate lunch on a bridge? Probably more than could say that they ate lunch on a bridge that was really on the land.

And then the sunset through the trees was a nice added touch that particular day, too.
