Some People I Am Thankful For

Thanksgiving

Last week was Thanksgiving here in the United States. And as most people did, we got together with family for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. And also a non-traditional Thanksgiving meal, too. I have a lot to be thankful for, but right at the top of the list are the people in our lives. Laura is at the tippy-top, of course, and Jaylin, but also are our family and close friends. So here are a few photos (okay, a lot of photos) from our Thanksgiving gatherings. Because it isn’t official until you take a group photo!

Burnses and Bramletts

On Thanksgiving Day, we got together with my parents and my sister’s family for the traditional Thanksgiving meal. And after it was over, I was stuffed like a turkey. Except that we have dressing instead of stuffing.

Here we all are together. And yes, the kids are taller than most of the adults now, except for Lewis. But we have them outnumbered!

It was good to have the Bramletts here in town for this holiday. It has been a while since we have all gotten together.

Some people I am thankful for

Last year, we had gone to Kansas for Thanksgiving. But this year, Jaylin got to come home. That was nice!

Here are the proud grandparents with all of their grandchildren together in one place.

And just for good measure, here are the grandparents by themselves, too.

It was a good time with family, eating together, watching some football, and just having a good time. Family is a blessing.

Burnses and Riedels

The day after Thanksgiving, we got together with the Riedels for a non-traditional Thanksgiving meal of Chicken Taco Salad. The food was great. And the company was even better!

Once again, it was good to have everyone together in one place. Jaylin had come in from Kansas, Zach and Leah had come in from Illinois, and Katie got the distance award for coming in from Virginia!

Zoey the dog was apparently done with picture-taking by the time we took this Riedel family photo. But she puts up with us anyway.

Here are the newlyweds! As you might remember, Zach and Leah got married back in September. I never did get a good photo of them then, but I made up for it this time.

This is a typical photo of us. Laura does a fun pose, and I am just there. That captures our personalities well.

Some people I am thankful for

Laura and Karen think so much alike that they buy the same ornament to take to Christmas Ornament Swaps without even talking about it.

I usually take a couple of test photos before getting everyone together. And those test photos usually involve Laura. This time, she roped Zach into helping her out.

And here are the empty-nester adventurers, making plans for what all we can do next with just us grown-up adults. Stay tuned for future adventures!

As with the day before, we had a good time hanging out, talking, eating, watching football, seeing the horses, and playing Throw Throw Burrito. Friends who are like family are a blessing, too.

I am very thankful for the people that we get to do life with!

About the Photos

These photos were relatively simple. Just the camera on a tripod with a flash on top of the camera. I controlled the camera with my phone, which made it pretty easy to be in the photos when it was appropriate.

And about the title of this post: I have always heard that you should not end a sentence with a preposition. But “Some People For Which I Am Thankful” just sounds too proper for the type of writing I do here. Besides, the title is not a complete sentence anyway. And I am thankful that this is not a paper being graded for school. So there.
