Sea Oats at Cocoa Beach

I always manage to get a photo or two (or more likely 15 or 20) of the sea oats when we are at Cocoa Beach. Call me simple, but I think they make good photo subjects. They don’t talk back or argue about having their photo taken. They do move with the wind, so you might have trouble getting them to hold still, but that isn’t that bad.

In a previous post, I wondered about why you can’t pick the sea oats, so I won’t cover that again here. Except to say that I never would have thought about picking sea oats if they hadn’t put a sign there saying not to do it. Maybe they should come up with some reverse psychology signs of some sort. Because maybe if they tell you it is good for you then no one would be tempted to do it at all.

But not to worry. I’m a good citizen, so the sea oats are safe from harm from me. And besides, doing something with them would be somewhat like cutting the grass back home. And I definitely don’t want to do anything like that when I am on vacation.

About the photo:
When I was processing this photo, I started in Lightroom and used a preset I had downloaded from some website for free, just to try something different from what I usually do. The preset had muted colors and darker tones from what I often do, so it was a nice change.
