Sand Bar at Castaway Cay

The Sand Bar at Castaway Cay, the private Bahamas island of the Disney Cruise Line, stands in the sand near one of the many beaches on the island. As you probably know, I am not a bar kind of guy at all, but I loved the way the small shack of a building looked, especially with the thick clouds above it, so of course I had to get a photo. And you can’t blame them for going with the obvious name pun. The clever names are just one of the many things I enjoy about Castaway Cay.

Also, looking at this photo gives me warm thoughts, which we have needed quite a bit with the winter weather we have received lately. I know what we got in our area is nothing like what the northeastern United States has gotten this winter, but it is still a lot for us. And before you singingly ask, “Do you want to build a snowman?”, we really got more ice than snow, so it wasn’t even good for going out and playing.

In times like these, I get slightly envious of those who do live in warmer weather. A nice, subtropical island would be perfect for me right about now. Yes, they do have a bigger chance for things like tropical storms and hurricanes than we have, but we have a bigger chance of winter weather and earthquakes, so perhaps it all evens out.

If I believed in past lives, I would wonder if I spent one of them as a beach bum. That would explain a lot of things about me, actually. Especially in the winter.
