Reflections of the Grand Floridian

Reflections of the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World

The Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World is reflected in the waters of Seven Seas Lagoon, as seen from near the Disney Wedding Pavilion.

I titled this post “Reflections of…” and not “Reflections about…” because we have never actually stayed at the Grand Floridian. I am sure it is nice, but for a place to sleep and take a shower, it always seems to be out of our price range. We stop by often when we are there to walk around for a bit, and we even eat at the counter service restaurant sometimes. But that’s about it.

Call me old-fashioned, but I can’t see spending lots of money for some place that you won’t even see all that much because you will be asleep most of the time that you are there. We always spend enough time walking on our vacations that I don’t have any trouble sleeping at night, so I don’t think I would sleep any better there than I would anywhere else.

Maybe one of these days we will splurge for a night or two and actually stay there, just to see how it is. Because like I said, I am sure that it is a nice place, if the rooms are as fancy as the rest of the hotel is.

But what if we stay there and find out that it really is better, and then we get hooked on it, and then we go broke trying to stay there? Hmm, maybe we shouldn’t try it after all. Decisions, decisions.
