Photo: Sunset at the Grand Floridian
On our Florida trips, we often seem to find ourselves at one of the Disney hotels when the sun is going down. That is due to our normal schedule of doing something to enjoy the sun during the day (such as spending time at the hotel pool), and then going somewhere in the late afternoon or early evening.
There are a few advantages to that plan. For one thing, you get to enjoy slightly cooler temperatures in the evening on those hot summer days. And even better, you get to see some pretty cool views at sunset, such as the above view of the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World.
We never do have a specific plan along the lines of, “Hey, let’s be at this specific place at sunset!” But it often just works out that way. Of course, if we just happen to be somewhere as the sun is going down, and if I just happen to have my camera with me, which I always do, then I will make the most of the opportunity to try to get a good photo or two.
And for the record, I really liked how this particular photo turned out. As usual, I did work on it a bit to make it even better, layering in a couple of different exposures to bring out some color and details (see yesterday’s post for an example of that layering). Makes me wish I were there again, enjoying another sunset.
