Photo: Rapunzel's Tangled Tower In the Magic Kingdom

Rapunzel’s Tangled Tower In the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Rapunzel’s tower from Tangled stands in between the Haunted Mansion and It’s a Small World in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Technically, it is located in Fantasyland, although it is right at the border of Fantasyland and Liberty Square if you want to be picky about such things.

Four years ago at this time, Tangled was pretty popular, having just been released for the Thanksgiving weekend in 2010. Has it really been that long? Yes, it has. And since Frozen was released a year ago, Tangled has sort of taken a back seat, almost forgotten about in this day of a new animated movie every year.

However, I think I would still consider Tangled every bit as good as Frozen. Yes, they are different movies, and that makes it slightly more difficult to compare them, but for my tastes, Tangled can hold its own compared to Frozen.

So far, besides having the characters appear in some of the greeting areas and in the parade, the only theme park presence for Tangled is this restroom area near It’s a Small World. Yes, it is a very elaborately themed restroom area, but it is still a restroom area and not an actual attraction. Some would claim that is better than having Tangled take over a beloved attraction such as Frozen is doing with Maelstrom at Epcot. And yes, I’m not sure exactly what sort of an attraction you could come up with based on Tangled.

So perhaps this elaborate area that just happens to also house some restrooms is a pretty good idea after all. And it certainly looks nice in photos.
