Photo: Just Like the Old Days

Crawford store in Williston, Tennessee

Some of our favorite sights at the Williston Old-Timers Festival in Williston, Tennessee, are the antique cars that are on display there. And sometimes, those cars make it easy to picture how things were back in the old days of which the Old-Timers Festival is a reminder.

For example, these two guys were using an old Model T Ford to tow an old hit-or-miss engine (that you can’t see behind the car) past the old W.C. Crawford General Merchandise Store. If you squint just a bit to blur out the modern car behind the Model T and the modern motorcycles in front of the store, this could almost be something from the really old days.

The Model T had arrived after we had been over to see all of the other cars. I said something to Jaylin about walking back over to see if they had unloaded it off the trailer, but as we were making our way over there, it came driving by us. Pretty good timing!
