Photo: Boards on the Beach
Our body boards sit side by side in the sand at Cocoa Beach, Florida, in this photo from our summer trip, as they wait to be taken back out into the water.
For quite a while, we tried sharing a board, and that worked well. Laura and I are pretty good at sharing things. But eventually, Laura decided that we each needed our own board. But it wasn’t because we couldn’t share. Instead, it was because she thought it would be even more fun to catch a good wave if your best friend was right there on the wave beside you.
And you know what? She was right. It is even more fun when both of us are out there. Sometimes one of us catches a wave that the other one misses, and sometimes we both end up on a good wave together. So while sharing is nice sometimes, being together is even nicer. And that makes for an even better vacation.
