Photo: A Colorful Lifeguard Hut at Cocoa Beach

If you have been following along here for a while, you know that the lifeguard hut at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida, always interests me. I suppose I find it interesting just because it is a structure out on the beach. But it gets even more interesting when I realize that each year, it looks different. Take a look at these past photos:

In 2010, it was just a plain wooden structure with no paint. That wouldn’t last all that long in the Florida sunshine, one would think.

In 2011, the lifeguard hut had received a coat of white paint, with a few red accents. Nice!

In 2012, it hadn’t changed much from 2011. So I guess it doesn’t change every time that we go. Except the flag pole has lost a lot of its red paint.

Above is the 2013 view, still white with the red trim. Except for a different flag pole from before. Looks like it is about time for some paint.

And that brings us back to this year’s more colorful view (yes, this is the same photo as at the top of the page).  And check out that nice metal flag pole now.

I know what you are thinking: “Hey Steve, you have too much time on your hands. Get a hobby or something, man!” Well yes, maybe I think about things too much. But I also like to notice little details. Like paint on a lifeguard hut. So maybe that is one of my hobbies. There could be worse things, right?
