Photo: A Beach Wedding

A beach wedding at Cocoa Beach, Florida

Frequently on our trips to Cocoa Beach, Florida, we get to see a beach wedding. Usually, it is a pretty small affair, with just the bride, groom, minister, and maybe a few family members in attendance. There really doesn’t appear to be much formality about those weddings, which is probably nice from a planning and stress aspect. Simple works just fine for many people.

But at other times, it is a much larger celebration. That was the case for the wedding that preparations were being made for in this photo. They had the fancy backdrop, a nice table with seahorses, a sound system, and some chairs with fancy covers for the guests to sit in. I was quite impressed by how quickly the guy in charge got it all set up before everyone arrived, and then at how quickly he got it all taken down after the ceremony had ended. Nice work!

I often wonder if they would mind if a few of us beachgoers sat in on their wedding. No, I didn’t get an invitation, but they are having their wedding right out there in the open, after all. It can’t be that much of a private affair. And I do like weddings, although I do know that the marriage is much more important than the wedding itself.

Figuring that they didn’t want a guy in his swimsuit crashing their wedding, I settled for just getting a photo of the preparations before the wedding party and their guests arrived. And then I watched from the shade of my beach umbrella.
