People at the Beach

There are always interesting people at the beach, such as here at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

There are always interesting people at the beach, such as here at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

If you just sit on the beach for a while, you can see all sorts of things. Some people wear some things they just weren’t made to wear. And some people have a whole lot of self-confidence and a great self-image, apparently. Even those that probably shouldn’t. I suppose that is what makes people interesting. And if the people themselves aren’t interesting enough, you can start watching what they do. Watching people trying to put up umbrellas or those tent/canopy things is rather entertaining at times. Seeing people who drag a big cart loaded with stuff out to the beach, and then leave with it two hours later makes you wonder why they brought all that stuff. And watching people try to pull anything with wheels reminds you that wheels and sand don’t mix very well.

You can also hear interesting things at the beach, especially in Florida. People come from all over, it seems, and it is interesting to hear all the accents, dialects, and languages that people use. Some are unintentionally comical, and some are just difficult to understand. And those are just the English speakers. You can also hear all sorts of interesting foreign languages, which makes you wonder if our words sound to them as strange as their words sound to us.

Of course, to me the most interesting person in this photo is the one sitting under the umbrella at the center of the frame. Because she is my wife.
