Our 22nd Anniversary
Today is a momentous day, because it is our 22nd wedding anniversary! That probably doesn’t sound as impressive as those nice “milestone” numbers like 20 or 25, but 22 is where we are right now, and that is just fine.
I have now been married for half of my life. Technically, that isn’t quite true yet, because if you figure it out to the month and day, I will not have been married for half of my life until sometime in December. But to everyone except us technical mathematicians, yes, half my life. And Laura has been married for over half her life now. But it really doesn’t seem like that long at all.
Each year, I say something along the lines of how great the last however many years have been, but it really is true. We have had a wonderful marriage, and we are having the time of our lives. Of course, that doesn’t mean it is all fun and games. Yes, a lot of the time, but not all of the time. But what makes a marriage stronger is being able to work through whatever problems might come up, growing closer together as you do. When we got married those 22 years ago, we thought we were “in love.” Little did we know that back then we had no idea of just what love is.
Our love has grown more and more as the years go on. And I am looking forward to it growing even stronger in the future!
You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace. - Song of Songs 4:9
About the photo:
I keep telling myself I am going to take more photos of Laura like this. And then we get busy with life and things and it slips my mind. So I am glad to have this one of her from one of our favorite places, the Deck 4 Promenade of the Disney Dream.
A single RAW exposure, processed in Photoshop. Read more about the photo software and gear I use at the camera gear page.
