Observations of the Past Weeks (4/18/14)
The time for the Observations of the Past Weeks from Twitter and Facebook has rolled around once again. Read on, and then follow along on social media to catch all of the latest.
My brain has apparently taken a vacation for the weekend. I hope it comes back. And brings me a souvenir. (It didn’t. Bring a souvenir, that is.)
I always hate when I reply to a text message before I realize it was a group message. Hello, world! (Gotta pay more attention to who the original message was sent to.)
“You can be better than you are.” - Dr. Jack Lewis (Very true, even if you have no idea who Dr. Lewis is. I do.)
Captain America is intense. You should go see it. Unless, of course, you don’t like good movies. (And who doesn’t like good movies?)
Where is the rain? I am asking on behalf of the pressure in my sinus cavities. (That’s where my personal weatherman lives.)
Lunch is one of my three favorite meals each day. (Only because I can’t figure out a good time for a fourth meal. Sorry, Taco Bell.)
Nothing like a discussion of kidney stones to liven up the lunch table. (And that’s all I have to say about that.)
Interesting to see how many people don’t click past the main page of my website. Wonder what they were looking for that I didn’t have? (Surely they weren’t looking for interesting posts like this one. Because I have lots of those.)
Oh yes, let me just drop all the important stuff I was doing to take care of that for you. (Because that is apparently the way the business world works these days.)
Laura, who was wearing her tall shoes: “I’m an Amazon woman.” Jaylin: “Like the website?” (So Wonder Woman was an Amazon.com?)
Don’t you hate it when you come up with a better way of doing something but it gets shot down because others don’t understand it? (Yes.)
Don’t you hate it when people unfollow you for no apparent reason? (Yes.)
Don’t you hate it when people post “Don’t you hate it when…” tweets? (Yes.)
I just figured out how to mute hashtags in Tweetdeck. Don’t worry, I’m still reading what you tweet. Really. (I’m still especially reading if you don’t use any hashtags.)
It’s that time of year when my red car suddenly turns yellow-green. And sneezes. Or maybe that is me. (Because a sneezing car would just be weird.)
In the news: Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius resigning, Stephen Colbert to take her place. Or maybe I have my stories mixed up. (But that might make government more interesting.)
This is going to be another of those “whirlwind” weekends. Should be fun, but busy. (Aren’t they all these days?)
And then suddenly the lack of sleep over the weekend catches up with me. Zzzzz. (I’m awake!)
Thinking of taking a crash course in “What to Do When You Can’t Breathe Because of Sinuses.” Because I can’t. (Can anyone?)
When a salesman says he is coming “after lunch,” and you realize he means anywhere from 1:00 to 4:00 pm… (Turns out that this time, “after lunch” meant 3:00pm. That’s a long lunch.)
Hello, spring rain! I hope you wash the “spring” out of the air. (And off of my car.)
At least I have the rain as my excuse for missing the lunar eclipse. Not that I would have gotten up anyway. (Solar eclipses are so much more sleep-friendly.)
Happy Tax Day! Not that you have to pay a tax for being happy. Or maybe you do. (And if not, just wait - they will figure out a way.)
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. - 2 Chronicles 16:9 (There’s more to that verse in its proper context, but I like it.)
Almost time to go home! You know what that means? It means I’m going home. (One of my favorite times of day.)
Sometimes I think cars should come with an option for a soundproof window between the front and back seats. (Private conversations are a lost art.)
My M&M supply is low, so I’m having to ration them out to make it through the day. I knew I needed something from the store. (But no one can eat just one! Oh wait, that is for potato chips.)
And now the M&Ms are gone. So much for rationing them out. (Sadness.)
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you feel about a scale that stopped at 10? (There would be a whole lot of people who would be quite happy with only weighing 10 pounds.)
Rise and shine! It’s gonna be a golden day! (That’s true for every day, by the way.)
Today, the part of M&Ms will be played by Hershey’s Kisses. (You gotta learn to improvise.)
That’s it for this time. Be sure to watch your favorite social media thing for more.
