Observations of the Past Week (3/25/13)
Here they are once again, the Observations of the Past Week from Twitter and Facebook. No paparazzi, please. Well, maybe just a little paparazzi.
My main problem with filling out a basketball bracket is that it isn’t football. (That, and I don’t keep up with basketball.)
Happy Spring! Does it put a spring in your step? I just hope it doesn’t put a spring in my sneeze. (Gesundheit!)
Did you hear about the corduroy pillow? It’s making headlines. (Ha.)
Yesterday on the way to church we saw horses, cows, turkeys, deer, chickens, and hawks. It’s a zoo out there. (Maybe the world should charge for admission. Or at least for parking.)
They say that we might get some snow tonight. So I wore warm socks today. Just to be prepared. (Of course, I almost always wear warm socks anyway.)
Weather update: It isn’t snowing. (That was for those too busy posting about basketball to look out the window.)
Laura’s school program was tonight. The batteries in all the cameras and cell phones in the room could power a small city. (Who needs lights with all those glowing screens?)
Bumper sticker: “Forget about world peace - visualize using your turn signal.” (Truth.)
For those keeping score at home, we didn’t get any snow last night. We did get rain, which is kind of like snow that melted, if that counts. (From those wanting to get out of school, I was told that it did not count.)
Tonight we watched Up, one of the few movies that gets me every time. (Sniff.)
For the record, I gave up on my bracket after yesterday. (That was posted Friday morning, after the first day of games. There’s always next year.)
Our neighbor’s goat just has one horn. I think it really is a unicorn in disguise. (I keep watching it for magic fairy dust and rainbows.)
Two: the number of miles we walked earlier today. As my feet are now reminding me. (Not sure why the feet were protesting - they got to share the work between the two of them. That way, each of them only did a mile, right?)
Hang on to your hats and glasses, cause this here’s the wildest wind in West Tennessee. (With apologies to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.)
