Observations of the Past Week (2/4-2/10)

The Observations of the Past Week from Twitter and Facebook. Actually, they are from my brain. Which is just a little bit scary, isn’t it?

Interestingly, someone is trying to sell a used copy of my book for $301. You can buy a new copy for only $10. (What a deal!)

Why is the Pancho’s Cheese Dip always gone? (If you aren’t from the Memphis area, you have no idea.)

I rearranged my computer desk, so all day I have been reaching to the wrong place for the mouse. (Why am I always playing tricks on myself?)

It is Super Bowl Sunday! Who do I think will win? The team with the most points at the end of the game, that’s who. (Wise words.)

So last night’s bowl was super. Big deal. I never did see it leap a tall building in a single bound. (That was probably funnier the day after the Super Bowl than it is now. Or maybe it still wasn’t funny then.)

Me: Did you learn anything at school today? Jaylin: Well I thought I did, but I forgot it. (I had school days like that, too, so I can’t say much.)

Happy 200th birthday, Charles Dickens! Oh, and I still haven’t read that Oliver Twist book of yours. Hope you don’t mind. (Not that I would read it if you weren’t 200 years old.)

Is your caucus raucous? (Whatever.)

Hmm, the dog is barking a good bit. Wonder if that means I should wait to go out and feed the animals? (At least the dog barking means that he is still out there.)

There was a time when I would be upset by forgetting to wear a watch. But that time is not now. Actually, I don’t know what time it is. (Maybe I am just timeless.)

This is one of those days to have those glasses with the eyes painted on them. (Those always work so well in the cartoons.)

I typed that a light fixture should have a batter pack instead of a battery pack. Must be snack time. (Because I would more likely be thinking about a cake batter than a baseball batter. Wouldn’t you?)

And in other news, the days when I have lots to do fly by just a little too quickly. Not that I am really complaining. (And would it do any good to complain, anyway?)

Always excitement in the school building on open house/program night. (And I am not even a parent, teacher, or student at that school. I’m just married to a teacher.)

Cold day outside = cold feet inside. I should probably get up and move around to get some blood flowing. (Or just wear warmer socks.)
