Observations of the Past Week (10/15-10/21)

Time once again for the Observations of the Past Week from Twitter and Facebook. Seems like a slightly shorter list. I guess I wasn’t as observant this past week. Oh well.

Another exciting football game! Jaylin’s team won, 19-0! Jaylin had some good runs and big tackles, including a QB sack! (Fortunately, he didn’t do any kind of celebration and get a penalty.)

Heard a loud BOOM that shook the house. Turned out to be our neighbors lighting a big bonfire. Guess we weren’t invited. (But fortunately, the 20 foot high flames didn’t set everything else around on fire.)

Goal for the day: Don’t lose consciousness. I think I can handle that one. (This was after the whole Passing Out thing, by the way.)

I sent a text by telling my phone to do it. How cool is that? (Now if I could only get it to make my lunch by telling it to.)

It sure is sunny outside for a Monday. Aren’t they always supposed to be gray and cloudy? (If it were supposed to be sunny, it would be called Sunday.)

Watching Monday Night Football isn’t the same without someone to watch it with. (Fortunately, Laura got home in time for the second half.)

When we left home this morning, it was 66 degrees outside. Once I got to the office, it was 54 degrees. Cold front coming through, maybe? (Or maybe everyone left their refrigerators open.)

Better for a man to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool in his foolishness. - Proverbs 17:12 (Not that I want to do either one.)

Was out in the cold most of the morning, as well as last night at the football game. Now, typing is really hard with stiff fingers! (It would have been a good day for a nice, warm cup of coffee. Except that I don’t like coffee.)

The bad thing was when someone told me I was middle aged. The worse thing was when I realized he was right. (If you need me, I’ll be in my rocking chair.)

It was like driving in a winter wonderland this morning. (Because of frost, not snow. But it might make you sing “Frosty the Snowman.”)

It is always a welcome sound when the heat comes on in the office. Especially on these cold mornings. Whoooosh! (Or insert your own sound effect if you can do it better.)

Time to open up a nice cold can of Coca-Cola. ssssPop! (Another sound effect? What’s up with that?)
