A Natural View
Wekiwa Springs State Park in Florida is full of natural beauty with its waterways and trees. Of course, this view is not entirely natural, as you can see the canoe in the foreground and the bridge off to the left. But it is nice to have some accommodations to allow those of us who enjoy such things to be able to easily see them. Trails, bridges, walkways, and such. Fortunately, in this park, they still allow for plenty of views of the good natural stuff.
Yes, the water really was that clear. No camera tricks were required here. That is one of the advantages of natural spring water, after all. You could easily see all the way down to the bottom of the riverbed. Pretty cool.
We enjoyed wandering the trails and checking out all that we could see. The raindrops kept us from seeing a little more than we might have otherwise. But it was all good. We had a good time, and we enjoyed just being together. That is what a good trip is all about.
Getting Back to Nature
I am finding these days that natural scenes are often much more interesting to photograph than purely manmade scenes. That is something of a change from what I used to prefer. While buildings and architecture used to be more interesting to me, these days I find that I spend a little more time in nature, at least when I can.
The places we are more likely to visit are parks and natural sites rather than museums and buildings. That is not to say that we never go to those other places, but rather just that we chose the former first. As cool as the buildings and museums are, they just cannot compare to the beauty of God’s creation.
Fortunately, we live in a world where we can enjoy both the manmade and the natural stuff, too. Be sure to take some time to enjoy it when you can.

About the photo
If this photo feels familiar to you, that is probably because it is slightly similar to another photo from Wekiwa Springs that I posted some time back. However, I felt that this one was different enough in composition that posting both of them would not be a problem. Besides, this one was taken in a slightly different spot, to the left from where the previous photo was taken.
For this photo, in addition to some of the usual processing things that I do, I used a technique known as Orton Effect. That effect gives a somewhat dreamlike, soft focus quality. I dialed it down a bit so as not to overdo it, but I felt that it went well with the natural theme here.
