Moloaʻa Beach on Kauaʻi
A Secluded Kauaʻi Beach

We visited this secluded beach on the next-to-last day of our trip. While it was not our favorite beach that we visited on Kauaʻi, it was still pleasant. A couple of those specks out in the water are actually people, but you can see that there were not many people there at all. And those that were there were quite spread out, so we did not feel crowded at all.
You can read more about our visit to this beach in Part 11 of the 2018 Kauaʻi Trip Report. This was on the same day that we went to the Pineapple Dump and the Kīlauea Lighthouse, so as you can see we packed a lot into that one day. There are a few other photos from Moloaʻa Beach in the trip report, and a couple of them are very similar to this one. But I have changed some of my photo processing techniques since the trip report was written, so this one has a different look to it. And if you are wondering, this is actually a separate photo from all of those in the trip report, although it was taken from almost the exact same spot.

Happy Fall!
Fall is here! Or autumn, if you prefer. Why does the season have two different names, anyway?
Around here, Fall has arrived more by the calendar than by a visible change in seasons. As I write this, we are experiencing a slight break in temperatures for a few days. But then next week they are forecasting highs in the mid 90s again. Yes, October begins next week, and we are still having summer temperatures.
Personally, I don’t mind it all that much. While I do enjoy some of the changes that fall brings, I don’t like the cold temperatures that winter brings. So if it stays warmer for longer, that isn’t really a problem.
However, mid 90s in October is just a bit much, don’t you think? The low 80s might be slightly more appropriate.
So let’s do all we can to change that! Oh wait, what’s that? We can’t do anything to change it? Oh well, might as well enjoy it as much as we can.
I will keep wearing my Hawaiian shirts until I just can’t stand it any more. Happy fall!

About the Photo
For this photo, as with many of the recent photos I have shared, I went strong with the processing in Aurora HDR. If you look back at the photos in the trip report, you can see something close to the “normal” version of this photo. This version to me looks much more interesting. And just a little surreal, too. Believe it or not, the first pass at processing made this one look even more surreal than this. This one is actually toned down a bit.
