Minnesota Monument at Shiloh

Minnesota Monument at Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee

A monument to the troops from Minnesota that fought in the Civil War Battle of Shiloh stands along the Sunken Road in Shiloh National Military Park.

This is another one of the many monuments found at Shiloh. You may remember a previous photo of the Iowa monument. This Minnesota monument is smaller in scale, but it is still every bit a reminder of those who fought in this battle, as well as in all of the Civil War battles.

In addition to remembering those who fought, these monuments also each have a great bit of artistry about them. For example, the soldier figure on this one looks almost lifelike, except for the fact that he is metal instead of flesh and clothes. There is much impressive artistic work found throughout the park.
