Main Street Station at Night
Main Street Station in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is lit up at night as guests enter and leave the park.
After a fun day seeing some of the Central Florida sights, we went for a walk around Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World in the early evening. When we do that, our walks typically take us from the Contemporary Resort, past the Magic Kingdom, and on toward the Grand Floridian. Except that you can’t cross the canal leading backstage at the Magic Kingdom, so we can’t walk all the way to the Grand Floridian. So we always turn around and walk back to the Contemporary, ending up where we started.
On this evening, we were passing back by the Magic Kingdom on our way back to the Grand Floridian just as it was getting good and dark. So I stopped for a quick photo of Main Street Station as the train was waiting there, and as there were some random guests in front of the park. I knew we would be back in a couple of days to actually go to the Magic Kingdom, so I didn’t linger long for this shot. But I thought it turned out well, given that I didn’t use a tripod but just stood as still as I could.
I love this time of night, too, especially for photography. It isn’t too dark out yet, but all the lights are already on, giving everything a special glow. I really should try to get out at that time of night more often, even if it is just at places around home.
