Looking Out Over the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World
What a View!
Looking out over the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World from a window in the main lobby building, as seen during our 2019 Florida Summer Vacation.
I like views like this of the resorts at Walt Disney World. This is something slightly different from what you can see if you are just out walking. There are several windows in the shops at the Grand Floridian that offer nice views like this.
Of course, I am sure that the view out of a guest room at the Grand Floridian would look similar to this, too. But we never have stayed there to find out. Maybe one of these days.
I do like the inclusion of the bellhop pushing the luggage cart here. I didn’t really plan that. He just happened to be walking by as I was getting my shot. But I like what he adds. Thanks, bellhop guy!
Dark Skies
Some might say the dark sky in this photo is appropriate right now. As of this writing, the Walt Disney World theme parks are closed, and the Walt Disney World resorts are closing today, all due to the COVID-19 virus.
As has been said many times before in the last few days, we have never seen anything like this before. And many of us never thought we would see it. But here we are, right in the middle of it.
But take heart, because it won’t last forever. I firmly believe that we will come through this and get back to normal life. I don’t know exactly when that will be, but it is coming.
Better times are coming, despite the valley that we are in right now. Be patient, and be thankful for the blessings you currently get to enjoy.
Bible Verse
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. - Isaiah 40:28-31
About the Photo
Once again, the wonder of shooting in Raw format shows in this photo. In the original JPG version, the clouds looked rather flat and washed out. But I was able to pull lots of detail out of the Raw file using Aurora HDR. I really liked the look it gave here.
Also, the colors here are a little flatter than on some of my photos. I thought that went well with the gray clouds and the current mood that many are feeling right now. I’m not trying to be a downer, but I know many are feeling that way right now. But as I mentioned above, I am hopeful, and I hope you are as well.
