Looking at Nassau and Jaylin's First Day

A Nice View

While we were stopped in Nassau, Bahamas, as part of our Disney Cruise, we had a great view of Nassau from our stateroom verandah. It was pretty neat to be able to look out and see the city right from our room, especially because we were up higher than much of the city. We could see all sorts of buildings, and most of them were colorful, as you can see here. And we could even see a sports stadium off in the distance, although it is out of the frame here. And while visiting the city was fun, it was also fun to sit in one of our verandah chairs and just enjoy the view.

Jaylin’s First Day

Monday of this week was Jaylin’s first day of fifth grade. And since everyone else always posts photos of their child’s first day, here is one of my own:

Actually, while these were indeed taken on Jaylin’s first day of school, we took those photos for a project that the principal at Laura’s school was working on. But they probably do sum up how Jaylin feels about school, much like I did when I was his age. Still, overall he was happy to go and see his friends that he hadn’t seen all summer. Which again is how I was at his age, too. And he had a pretty good first day from what he said about it, and we didn’t have any phone calls or notes from the teacher to say otherwise. So that’s a good thing!
