Lion King at Disney's Art of Animation Resort

It’s a Jungle Out There

Perhaps you remember our look around the Little Mermaid area of the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World? If not, go ahead and take a look while we wait here.

Okay, ready for more? Then here is a look around the Lion King area, also at the Art of Animation.

Laura, Jaylin, and Zazu at the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

As you may remember from the previous post, Laura and Jaylin were trying to match the poses of the characters around the Art of Animation Resort. Actually, Laura was trying a little harder than Jaylin was. Here, they are with Zazu, the informative hornbill from the movie. Zazu does not look all that impressed.

Laura, Jaylin, and Scar at the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

Scar looks pretty happy for a bad guy, doesn’t he? So of course Laura and Jaylin are looking happy, too. But just in case he decides to pounce on them, they better “be prepaaaaared.”

Laura, Jaylin, and Banzai at the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

Banzai, one of the hyenas, always has a somewhat evil grin on his face. But Laura and Jaylin don’t look evil at all, do they? That’s a good thing.

Ed is always the crazy hyena, often seen with his tongue hanging out. Of course at Art of Animation, Ed is always seen with his tongue hanging out, because he is a statue that never moves. Laura and Jaylin had a pretty easy time with this one.

Laura, Jaylin, Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba at the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba make their way across a fallen tree as they sing Hakuna Matata, and Laura and Jaylin follow suit down below. They could not get up on the tree with them, but no worries.

Laura, Jaylin, and Rafiki at the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

Here they are with the wise Rafiki. I think that is Jaylin’s wise face. Or maybe it is his “how many more of these” face. Lots more, because we haven’t even made it to the Cars area yet.

Laura, Jaylin, and Mufasa at the Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World

Last but definitely not least is Mufasa, one of the two Lion Kings in the movie. It is a little hard to see from this angle down below Pride Rock, but Mufasa has his left paw up in the air, so Laura and Jaylin have their left feet in the air as well. As we were walking away after taking this photo, a non-English speaking family came up behind us, and they had their kids do the same pose with one foot in the air. Maybe we started a new trend! You’re welcome.

That is all for this time. But watch in the future for more photos from the Art of Animation Resort. We skipped Finding Nemo, for whatever reason. Maybe we will pick that one up sometime later. But there are lots of photos from Cars to share!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. - James 1:17

About the Photos

As with the previous Art of Animation photos, these took a little work to even out the shadows and sunshine, and all of that was done in Photoshop. But it was worth the extra effort.
