Lifeguard Hut at Cocoa Beach / Burnsland List of Relevance

Lifeguard Hut at Cocoa Beach

Last year, I enjoyed photographing the lifeguard hut at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I really liked the look of it, for whatever reason.

This year when we arrived at the beach, I was surprised to see that the hut had been painted white and red. I’m sure it was painted for several reasons, mostly to protect the wood, and perhaps to make it a little cooler inside. And then I would guess that the supports were painted red to keep them from blending in with the sand to people who may be walking or running by. But that’s just a guess.

Whatever the reasons, I’m not complaining about it being painted. That just meant that I had to take more pictures of it this year.

The Burnsland List of Relevance for 7/31-8/6

The Burnsland List of Relevance took the week off last week. So you would think that it would be rested and ready to go with good stuff for this week. Don’t count on it.

  1. Hot - It’s been hot here. Probably not hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. But I haven’t tried because I don’t like eggs. Maybe we could fry sausage on the sidewalk?
  2. Breakfast - I’m always annoyed by people who eat breakfast for dinner. Hello? They call it breakfast for a reason. Probably the reason was that the pigs and chickens couldn’t put up as much of a fight for bacon and eggs after sleeping all night.
  3. Rain - What’s that? You mean water really does fall from the sky? Haven’t seen that in so long, I forgot about it.
  4. Beach - Why is it that after a nice, relaxing week at the beach, I spend the next week (or more) wishing I were back there again? Is the beach like some kind of drug?
  5. Spaghetti - Ever wonder why it has such a funny name? Maybe that makes it more fun to eat. I’m not complaining here. I would eat it no matter what it was called.
  6. Football - It’s almost here. Are you ready? I am. Of course, I’m talking about college football, but I’ll watch some NFL games, too, now that they decided to go ahead and play.
  7. Sand - I keep finding sand in things that we took to the beach with us. Not that I’m complaining. But I hope that we left enough there that there will still be a beach when we go back.
  8. Elephants - I don’t know why, but each time I try to think of the next thing to put on the list, “elephants” comes to mind. So I figured they might as well be on the list. I wouldn’t want them to come step on me out of frustration at not being included.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. - Colossians 3:23-24
