Liberty Square and Frontierland at Walt Disney World
A Tale of Two Lands
Liberty Square and Frontierland stand side by side in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The buildings to the left are considered Liberty Square, and the fort at the right is in Frontierland. The corridor in the center connects the two together, serving as a bit of a visual bridge between the two lands. Also, the corridor leads to Adventureland, meaning that there are actually three lands all meeting at this one place.
If you need more reference of just where this is in the Magic Kingdom, just out of the frame on the left is the Diamond Horseshoe, and just to the right is the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade. By the way, some other websites out there will explain the brown section of pavement that you can see here and that runs throughout Liberty Square. Just behind where I was standing for this photo, the brown streak goes off to the left and on into Liberty Square but not to the right and into Frontierland. They say that this represents how sewage would run down the middle of the dirt streets in Colonial times. Ew, gross!

Just Like the Old Days
I purposefully processed this photo to have the look of some of the photos found in the old Walt Disney World souvenir photo books. I have one book from the late 1970s that I particularly like. Many of the photos in that book have a look that is something like this. It seems like they don’t sell as many of those books as they used to. I guess the wide availability of photos on the internet has made those somewhat obsolete.
Even though the old days were the old days, that doesn’t always mean that they were any worse than the current days are. That goes for photos and how they look, too.

About the photo
This was one of those photos that I often end up with where the sky was completely washed out. It was an overcast morning at the Magic Kingdom, and the clouds turned the sky white. Thanks to some layering of an additional exposure from the original Raw file, I was able to add some blue to the sky.
