Leaving the Disney Dream, and Book Recommendations
A Huge Ship
A view of the Disney Dream as we were leaving the ship. Leaving the Disney Dream at the end of your Disney Cruise Line cruise can be sad. But here, we were only leaving temporarily to go see some of the sights of Nassau, Bahamas. So we really weren’t leaving at all, but rather just taking a little side trip while the ship was in port.
When you do leave the ship in Nassau, you get an idea of just how large the ship is, as you are standing right up next to it for the first time. Those ships are huge!
Book Recommendations
Most every day, I get an email from Amazon.com with some things they think I might be interested in. I guess that I had signed up for a mailing list somewhere along the way. Most of the time, the items in the email aren’t always that appealing to me, although I can see why they were recommended based on other things I had purchased. But a couple of times over the last week, I have gotten some interesting recommendations.
Over the weekend, the item at the top of the list in the “Recommended for You” email was the eBook Enjoy Walt Disney World (without riding all the rides) by Steve Burns. Hey, I know that guy! I thought it was pretty interesting that they would actually recommend my own book to me. Of course, it would be nice if they would recommend it to some other people, too. But I didn’t think much else about it.
Then yesterday’s email recommended Three Disney Cruises by Steve Burns. I think I am seeing a trend here! Of course, I think I would enjoy that book, since I did write it after all.
I am sure that the recommendations are based on items that you have viewed (because they are always watching you), and I have viewed the Amazon pages for those books a few times to refine the links on the Burnsland Books pages. And to a computer’s mind, the fact that I have looked at those Amazon pages more than once must indicate that I am interested in the books, right? Well yes, I am, but not for the purposes of buying them. However, I am interested in those pages for the purposes of others buying them.
Maybe I should just forward those emails to all my friends.
