Laura's New Favorite Car

1956 Chrysler New Yorker St. Regis

This past weekend was the annual Williston Old-Timers Festival in Williston, Tennessee, which is where we live. Because we always like those sorts of things, and because this one is very near to us, and because this one is free, we always try to stop by and have a look around.

Of everything that they have at the festival, I always enjoy seeing the old cars the best. And this year, the local Mopar Club had a good showing, with more cars than in any of the last several years.

Laura particularly liked this one, which was a Chrysler New Yorker St. Regis; I believe it was a 1956 model if I am not mistaken. Look at all that chrome. That two-tone paint scheme. That great hood ornament. All of it in pristine condition.

Of course, the main reason Laura liked it was because it was pink, which happens to be her favorite color. I think if it were for sale (it wasn’t) and if we had the money for it (we don’t), she would have bought it, just to have a cool pink car.

These old cars always remind me that they don’t make them like they used to.
