Laura Is a Superhero Teacher
Laura has been working hard on the school programs for this year, which takes quite a bit of work. One program is now complete, and she got to show off her cape that she had made after the show.
The program that Laura came up with was about being a superhero, even if you do not have super powers. To go along with that, she made capes for all of the students using artwork that they had colored. But the students could not be the only ones in on the fun. So all of the teachers made capes as well, decorating them just a little more than the students’ capes.
Here, Laura shows off her cape, which was of course pink, since that is her favorite color. She has the “L” logo (each of the kids’ capes had a logo with their first initial as well), and she also decorated it with a horse, hearts, a cowboy hat and boot, and Mickey Mouse. Just a few of her favorite things.
After the program had ended, we got this photo of her on the stage under the Be The Hero decorations. As you can see from her smile, she was much relieved that it was over, even if she has another performance coming up in a few weeks.

The students also all had matching t-shirts with the Be the Hero logo on them, and the teachers got to wear those as well, as you can see here:

About the photos:
As you might be able to tell, these photos were taken on the stage after the performance, using the available light. However, I did not realize at the time that there was a shadow on the upper part of the rear of the stage, due to the placement of the lights out in front of the stage. I compensated for it as best as I could in processing. However, in hindsight, it would have been better to move Laura out more from the back of the stage anyway, for composition purposes as well as for lighting. Oh well, live and learn.
