Laura on the Dock at Sunset

Laura on the Dock at Sunset at Cocoa Beach, Florida

Laura enjoys the sunset while sitting on a dock over Sykes Creek in Cocoa Beach, Florida. This was taken at the same time as the photo in the earlier post Laura on the Dock, but from a different angle.

When I posted that earlier photo, I really liked the way that it turned out. But now that I have produced this version, I like it much better than that earlier photo. I guess I have learned a bit about photo processing in the last few months, and I put some of that new knowledge to use here.

And of course if you have ever been out at sunset, and I am sure that you have, you know that the light can change very quickly, giving a different color of “glow” to the surroundings. Add in some clouds moving in front of the sun, and that changes things, too. So part of the difference between the two photos comes from the slightly different time even more than the difference in processing.

But then both photos take me back to the memories of the great night that we had, going out to eat and then enjoying some quiet times at the small park there, with few people around, even though the highway was close by. The cool breeze blowing through the warm air. The stings of mosquito bites every minute or two.

Okay, so it may not have been an absolutely perfect night. But it was worth a few insect bites in the long run.
