Photo: Laura is Wonder Woman

A Wonder Woman

Laura is Wonder Woman

Laura is Wonder Woman. At least she is to me. And to Jaylin, too. But you probably knew that already. She struck a pose recently while wearing her Wonder Woman shirt, and I couldn’t help getting a photo.

But then sometime after I took the photo, I thought I could improve it some. The original photo was taken in our bedroom, but I thought a new background might be more appropriate. So the bedroom was traded for a red, white, and blue something or other. I like it. And if I ever think of doing something like this again, which I probably will, I will definitely remember that a more “plain” background should be easier to remove than walls and a doorway.

Apparently, not everyone knows who Wonder Woman is these days, based on comments Laura has received when she wears this shirt. One time when she was out shopping, some guy asked her, “Is that a Whataburger shirt? I like their hamburgers!” If you aren’t familiar with Whataburger (we don’t have them around here), here is their logo:

I guess I can see some similarities, but the two logos are still a bit different to my eyes.

So then on another shopping trip, a cashier asked Laura, “Is that a Weezer shirt? I love their music!” If you didn’t know, Weezer is a rock band. Here is their logo:

Again, similar, but just not the same. Doesn’t anyone know who Wonder Woman is any more? Maybe that will all change when she is in that new Superman/Batman movie. Because Wonder Woman beats Whataburger and Weezer any day.

And just a note to any logo designers out there: Apparently, the “W with wings” thing has been way overdone now. Move on to something else.

As a bonus, here is a photo of all three of us in our superhero shirts from the 4th of July? Because what is more patriotic than Captain America (times 2) and Wonder Woman? Yes, we are crossing publishing lines here, but that’s okay. It’s America.
