Jaylin's Football Signing
Big Football News!
Here’s some big news from our family: Jaylin has signed to play college football at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas! He is excited to have the opportunity to play college football. And of course, we are excited for him, too. I have shared a few photos of the town of Sterling from when Jaylin and I visited the school a few weeks ago. Now it looks like we will be visiting there much more!
Jaylin had a signing day at school last week, and that was exciting, too. Here are a few photos from the day.
A family photo after the event. Don’t worry, we wore our masks the whole time except for this photo. Jaylin is even wearing the Sterling shirt and cap that he got during our visit.
Just some good old-fashioned motherly love before the signing ceremony started.
Of course, we had to get a quick photo with Katie Riedel, too, since she is like family and was one of the students that was present for the ceremony. Most of the students watched the ceremony on live stream during homeroom, but a few got to be present in person.
More Photos
Those photos above were either taken by me or taken with my camera. But here are a few of the “official” school photos, too.

You can’t have a college signing without having a photo of the actual signing. So here is Jaylin signing the papers as his parents look on.

Here we are with the athletic director, school president, football coach, and strength coach. We are thankful to these and others who helped Jaylin along his high school journey.

And here is a graphic from the Sterling College social media folks that they created along with all of the others who signed for National Signing Day. Pretty cool! I like that they even have our home city shown on the Tennessee map! I hope they don’t mind that I “borrowed” the graphic. I’ll be sure to put it back when I am finished.
As I mentioned above, thanks to everyone who has helped Jaylin along his journey up to this point. Not just coaches, but teachers, band and chorus directors, friends, church people, and everyone else. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we are blessed with a very large, very loving village!
Even More!
Here are a few more photos, just for good measure. Including a couple just for fun.
Photos: Each photo is a single Raw exposure, processed in Luminar AI. Plus a couple with my phone, and a couple from the school photographer. Read more about photography tips, photo software, camera gear, and more at Steve’s Photography Tips.
