It runs in the family
The other day, Jaylin and I were in the car going home from somewhere. It really isn’t important where we had been. I say that because I don’t remember where we had been.
Anyway, Jaylin said, “Hey Dad, I have a joke for you. What’s the opposite of grounded?”
I drove on in silence, because I had no idea where he was going with it. Although I did know from past experience how his jokes usually go.
“You give up? It’s upted! Because when you’re grounded you have to stay on the ground. And the opposite of that is up, so it’s upted.”
“But ‘upted’ isn’t a word,” I said.
“I know,” Jaylin replied. “I just made it up.”
