Inside the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World

When you arrive at the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World by way of the Monorail, you walk in on the second level of the main lobby building and are greeted by the above sight. And immediately, you know what put the “grand” in the Grand Floridian name. It is even better when the orchestra is playing across the way, as they are here, or if the pianist is playing, which of course he isn’t because the orchestra is playing.

Maybe others are used to arriving in a different way, but for those of us who have never stayed there, the Monorail is the main point of entry for us. However, more recently we occasionally arrive by bus, and it seems a little strange to walk in on the ground level instead of at the second floor level. So when we do that, one of the first things I do when we get up to the second floor level is to take a similar photo to this one.

I have found over the years that I take some similar photos on each of our visits, so in the last few visits I have made a conscious effort to take different photos from what I have taken in the past. But then sometimes these “standard” views are still my favorites, just because that is still the traditional “first view” when you arrive.

I have never seen any of the actual rooms at the Grand Floridian, as we have not stayed there. So scenes such as this are what we usually see.
